Our desiccant dehumidifier

Quality Policy

Development and Selection

All desiccant dehumidifiers are designed and developed using modern software. The complete 3D model of the dehumidifier which includes all components is the result of thorough work of design engineers. Creating such 3D model allows to evaluate and to optimize the dehumidifier prior to its production and to exclude all problems that might arise later on during the assembly of the equipment.

Our design-engineers work in close cooperation with technical staff on the production site and installation specialists. Such cooperation gives the opportunity to optimize the model, the process of assembly and installation. Also, we always gather information from the companies where we have installed dehumidifiers, which allows us to continuously develop in the field of dehumidification and humidity control.

Our highly-professional engineers with many years of experience in the field of dehumidification are capable of offering the best possible solution to the problem of uncontrolled humidity using a desiccant rotor. Our technical experts can provide full technical support to the customers: from selection of the dehumidifier and recommendations on assembly, connection, operation and maintenance to the feasibility report.

Metal processing for desiccant dehumidifier

We use only corrosion resistant metals for manufacturing of the desiccant dehumidifiers:

  • stainless steel sheet with thickness of 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm;
  • AluZinc steel sheet with thickness of 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm.

Laser Cutting

The sheet steel for the case of dehumidifiers is cut on a German laser machine. It allows to cut the sheet of sizes up to 1500 × 3000 mm. Laser cutting has the following advantages:

  • It saves material. Laser can cut along any curved shape leaving a very small distance between the parts and, therefore, this method allows to place many more components on the sheet compared to conventional methods of cutting of sheet material;
  • No mechanical impact on the processed material;
  • No need for further processing of the cut edges – the edge of the cut is straight, perpendicular to the angle of the sheet, with no burrs;
  • Deformations are minimal, both temporary during the process of cutting and final after complete cooling;
  • high accuracy of cutting;
  • high productivity of the process, combined with the high quality of the cut surfaces;
  • it is a highly-automated process of cutting flat and volumetric parts along curved shape of high level of complexity

Punching of the Openings

Openings for the panels of desiccant dehumidifiers are punched on a jig punch press produced by a well-known German company. In addition to punching round, square, rectangular, oval, hexagonal and shaped openings, the press can make bulge forming of different shapes, punching, cluster perforation and other operations. The rotation of the punch relatively to the sheet allows to create smooth transitions on curved shapes. High speed of dislocations allows to produce a large number of parts in a short time. There is a wide range of punches and dies.

Bending

Bending of sheet metal for the casing of desiccant dehumidifiers is carried out on the Japanese CNC bending press. CNC sheet-bending equipment allows to quickly produce parts with complex shapes and different angles of bending at a high level of accuracy and repetition.

The equipment allows to bend different sheet materials: construction steel, stainless and galvanized sheet metal, aluminum zinc. There is a wide range of bending punches and dies.

Welding Technology

Welding (e.g., argon arc for stainless steel) is also used for the production of certain casing parts of desiccant dehumidifiers. We use the most advanced model of German welding equipment that allows us to achieve a quality seam, the minimum leash after welding and minimal finishing operations (the removal of discoloration, grinding, polishing, satin finishing).

Resurfacing

Some casing parts of desiccant dehumidifiers go through finishing processes on the grinding machine, to achieve perfectly smooth edges.

Quality Control

Even if we use the most up-to-date equipment to process metal for casing parts of our dehumidifiers, parts still go through quality control, and highly-qualified engineers random check if parts comply with all necessary requirements.

CASE of desiccant dehumidifiers

Panels of desiccant dehumidifiers are insulated with rock wool (thermal conductivity – 0.035 W/(m•K)). The thickness of the insulating layer is 20 mm or 40 mm. Due to this fact dehumidifiers have a low noise level and, therefore, can be installed in the premises where people work. Also, they can be installed outside with no risk of the dehumidifier freezing through.

All joints between the panels are glued through with polyurethane thickener or sealed with silicone. Also, at the junctures between doors and panels a rubber thickener with a metal cord is used.

All units have a frame construction, which makes them more rigid and does not violate the air-geometry of the dehumidifying equipment.

We assemble our desiccant dehumidifiers using the high-quality equipment of the world leading brands.

Desiccant rotor

The main element of the desiccant dehumidifier is the desiccant rotor. We use the third generation silicagel rotors/wheel produced in Sweden. This kind of desiccant rotors is characterized by a higher content of active silicagel than any other rotor in its own market segment. The unique formula of the desiccant material provides a more efficient dehumidification. As the result, a desiccant dehumidifier with such a rotor provides a higher level of dehumidifying at a lower cost compared with a dehumidifier equipped with another type of rotor of the same size.

If there is no drip moisture the desiccant rotor has no restrictions on the humidity of the processed air (up to 100%)

The composition of the material of the rotor:

  1. silicagel – 82%
  2. fiberglass – 16%
  3. acrylic coating – 2%

Physical properties:

  • the density of the dry material – ( ~240 kg/m3)
  • effectiveness of the adsorption of water vapor – ( >40%)
  • maximum compression strength – ( >200 kPa)

Fire resistance (tests on ASTM E84):

  • flammability index – 0
  • smokiness – 0

Along its perimeter, the desiccant silicagel rotor is sealed with a silicone tape with a Teflon (PTFE) layer in order to prevent air leaks. Sectors of the processed and reactivated air are separated by a PTFE tape in order to avoid mixing of the two air streams.

Rotor sealing for small desiccant dehumidifiers is being achieved with the use of textolite plates that provide adequate strength, low weight and necessary sliding (low friction) factor of the rotor.

The desiccant rotor is equipped with a gear engine manufactured by German manufacturers, certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008. The assigned certificate TÜV Rheinland confirms its compliance with the standards for gear engines in accordance with ATEX and IECEx. Some models are equipped with engines made in UK, which also correspond to all European standards.

To transfer the torque from the engine to the rotor a toothed belt and hooks on the rotor are used.

AIR FILTERS of desiccant dehumidifiers

The desiccant dehumidifiers are equipped with panel (models MDC250–3000), or pocket (MDC4000 models and above) cleaning air filters of class G4 … F9 EN779. The fixing mechanism of the filter in the filter section allows to replace the filter easy and safe, but ensuring high tightness and minimum leakage.

FANS used in the production of desiccant dehumidifiers

Fans are made in Germany and have a declaration of conformity CE. Starting with model MDC1000 all dehumidifiers are equipped with modern EC motors driven fans. Benefits of EC-fans:

  • built-in electronic control system
  • they allow to save 30% of energy in comparison with standard AC motors
  • they are low noise level

All models starting from MDC1000 are equipped with a potentiometer to adjust the consumption of the dehumidifier. The control switch of the potentiometer is located on the control panel.

To exclude even minimal vibrations on the dehumidifier the fans are mounted on antivibration supports.

REGENERATION HEATER of desiccant dehumidifiers

The desiccant dehumidifiers equipped with the following types of heaters:

  • PTC- heaters
  • electric heaters
  • water / steam / gas heat exchangers (upon request)

PTC-heaters are used on all models up to MDC2000. They are equipped with heating elements of Swedish or German manufacturers, certified in accordance with ISO 9001: 2008.

The models of desiccant rotor MDC3000 and higher have tubular electric heaters for the regeneration of the rotor. Units complete with electric heaters of our own production allow to use the heater to its outmost potential. Built-in temperature sensors allow to optimize the regeneration of the desiccant rotor, and also to prevent overloading of the heating elements.

Desiccant dehumidifiers can also be equipped with water / steam / gas regeneration upon request. In this case, heat exchangers of Italian, Czech and Swedish production are used. The manufacturers are certified according to ISO 9001: 2008 and their products comply with the PED Directive (pressure equipment) – № 23/1997 / EC and others.

ELECTRICAL CABINET AND CONTROLS SYSTEM of desiccant dehumidifiers

To ensure easy and convenient access, the power panel and the control panels of desiccant dehumidifiers are placed in a separate section.

The power wiring of desiccant dehumidifier and the control system are made of high-quality components, manufactured in Europe. The manufacturers of the components are certified to the international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001. Components comply to relevant and applicable EU standards and regulations.

The standard control system of desiccant dehumidifiers includes a complete set of sensors for safe operation. Basic models include:

  • Engine and cables protection from short circuit;
  • Protection of fan and heater engines from thermal overload;
  • Possibility to connect a humidistat to provide the operation of the desiccant in a stand-alone mode.

Upon request a desiccant dehumidifier can be equipped with humidistat of Swedish production that complies with requirements of the directives 2004/108 / EG (EMC) and 2006/95 / EG (LVD). Both a traditional and a digital humidistat can be installed. The digital humidistat offers a convenient display, a wider range of features and a possibility of programming.

For complete control of the operation of the dehumidifier, it can be equipped with a Carel PLC (data transmission protocol MODbus) upon request. The controller is made in Italy (Customized- version). It uses a modern and convenient control panel with a display and easy-to-use buttons. The desiccant humidifier with the controller offers the following features:

  • automatic step-by-step capacity control of the tubular electric regeneration heater
  • automatic control of steam/water valves actuators (in case of steam / water regeneration);
  • automatic control of natural gas valve (in case of gas fired regeneration)
  • indication of the need for air-filter replacement;
  • indication of all air parameters;
  • indication of all malfunctions;
  • possibility of the remote control of the dehumidifier, etc.

ASSEMBLY of desiccant dehumidifiers

After the assembly, all desiccant dehumidifiers go through obligatory factory checks, test run, and settings of all parameters. In addition, the dehumidifiers operate in the basic mode during several days, so all parameters of performance can be measured, and the final adjustment of the equipment can be done.

Using the most up-to-date equipment, engineers also measure temperature and humidity of the air flow.

How does the desiccant dehumidifier work?

The air which should be dehumidified (process air) goes through the desiccant rotor. Water molecules are adsorbed in a special silicagel rotor. Desiccant rotor is regenerated by the second air stream preheated to 90-140 °C. Moisture is removed from the premises in the form of warm moist air.
