The Challenge

Controlling Humidity & Air Quality in an Ice Rink

During the design of the air handling system for Humo Arena in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, engineers faced a critical issue: maintaining optimal temperature (7-12ºC) and humidity levels (40-50% RH) within the ice court zone.

Traditional condensation-based dehumidification proved ineffective and cost-prohibitive at such low temperatures. The project team needed a more energy-efficient and technically feasible solution to maintain high-quality ice conditions while ensuring air purity and CO₂ control.

The Solution

DA-10000 Desiccant Dehumidifier & Ventilation System

DT Group engineers collaborated with project specialists to develop a custom industrial dehumidification system that integrated ventilation, humidity control, heating, and cooling into a single air handling unit (AHU).

  • Desiccant Dehumidification Technology – The system efficiently removes excess moisture without relying on condensation.
  • Integrated Air Handling & Climate Control – Combines heating, cooling, and return air mixing adjustment for precise environmental control.
  • Energy-Efficient Dual-Stage Regeneration – Utilizes water heating (60°C) and electric heating (90-100°C) to reduce operational costs.
  • CO₂ Level Monitoring – Ensures a safe and comfortable environment for skaters and spectators.

Key Features of the DA-10000 Ice Rink Dehumidification System

  • Maintains optimal humidity levels, preventing fogging and condensation.
  • Improves ice quality and durability, reducing maintenance requirements.
  • Ensures fresh air supply and CO₂ control, enhancing indoor air quality.
  • Fully autonomous system, factory-equipped with advanced sensors, dampers, actuators, and control valves for seamless operation.
